Each computer or device is connected to a central. The information travels along this central line until it reaches the desired computer. There are terminators to prevent signal bounce. It requires very less cabling and it is easier to add a computer or device to the network. However the efficiency of the network decreases with the addition with extra computers or device.

All computers or devices are connected to a hub. The data is given to the hub and is returned to all computers regardless of whether it is required. Problems on the network are easy to detect and isolate. If one computer fails, the network is unaffected by the problem. However, if the central hub crashes, the network fails.
